Nagarkot sunrise hike is one of the best day tours/treks in Kathmandu that offers excellent sunrise views from Nagarkot, a short hike experience, and the cultural heritage of Chagunarayan Temple. Nagarkot viewpoint is located 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu and is one of the most popular stations to view the spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. Nagarkot offers great Himalayan views that include Everest view and many other Himalayan panorama and view of the Indrawati river valley.
Another attraction of Nagarkot sunrise hike is to visit the Chagunarayan Temple, which is located on a ridge overlooking the Bhaktapur, about 12 km east of Kathmandu. Chagunarayan temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and one of the oldest specimens of pagoda architecture in Nepal. The Chagunarayan temple is dating from the Licchavi period and embellished with exquisite wood and stone carvings.
Nagarkot sunrise Hiking start about 4-5 am from the hotel in Kathmandu and drive to Nagarkot to see the sunrise view. The drive takes about one and a half hours.
You have a great view of the sunrise view and have breakfast at the hotel in Nagarkot, and you start trek to Chagunarayan temple after breakfast at Nagarkot. It takes about 3-4 hours to trek Chagunarayan temple, and you visit the temple and have lunch in Chagunarayan temple, and our guide will drop you back at your hotel in Kathmandu.
